BlazeMakoid Architecture

Blaze Makoid has been practicing architecture and design since graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1985. Prior to establishing his own firm, he has worked for the internationally known design firms of Kallmann, McKinnell & Wood and the Hillier Group where he was the design director for their Philadelphia Office.

His work has been featured in the New York Times, Architecture Magazine, Hamptons Cottages and Gardens and the Robb Report.

His designs have been exhibited in New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia. He has received numerous national and international design awards including The 2008 Long Island AIA Commendation for Outstanding Achievement in Residential Design, The Boston Society of Architects’ First Citation and the Philadelphia AIA Honor Award for Excellence.

Drama, exuberance, and connoisseurship are the bywords of this leading Manhattan firm, steered by designers Tony Ingrao and Randy Kemper and architect Bryan Brown. The company’s highly sophisticated projects, among them the ultra-mod interiors of advertising guru Donny Deutsch’s New York City townhouse, have led to elite commissions for mansions and penthouses, in styles ranging from ancien régime to new-millennial modern―all of which are conceived with extraordinary flair. Ingrao and Kemper also plan estate gardens and curate a gallery, off Madison Avenue, where gilded Georgian chairs perch like sculptures atop illuminated plinths and rare statuettes are displayed in wall-mounted crystalline boxes.

Since the firm’s founding in 1989, Edmund Hollander Landscape Architects, led by principals Edmund Hollander and Maryanne Connelly, has sought to create landscapes which serve as an extension of the constructed building, through scrupulous translation of architectural motifs into the landscape beyond. Drawing from the noted architects and landscape architects of past, Ed and his firm create garden spaces which are cleanly detailed and beautifully executed.

LaGuardia Design actively pursues an interest in how elements of the native landscape, existing topography and neighboring influences help define the character of each site. Led by Principal Christopher LaGuardia, the focus of our design, from commercial parks to large rural estates, is to unify the landscape into a cohesive link firmly connecting architecture and site. The Firm’s work is strongly influenced by a modern aesthetic, focusing on clear spatial ordering and efficient site relationships. Through creative collaboration with clients, architects and consultants, we effectively develop original design solutions that are responsive to the requirements of site, program, schedule and budget.

Our objective is to create an inspirational and functional environment for each client’s specific needs. The built or manipulated environment should remain in balance with the natural and surrounding environment. This Organic Design philosophy, developed during the Modernist Movement, can take form in any Design Vernacular desired. Responsible architecture is not limited to a particular design style. It should respond to programmatic necessity and its surroundings, while providing innovative interpretation.

Worth Interiors

Worth Interiors

WORTH INTERIORS is known for their distinctive use of color and texture. Taking the position that design should not follow a specific set of rules, the design team at WORTH INTERIORS utilizes unexpected influences to create unique, inviting, compelling spaces. Organic elements give life to sleek surroundings while urban accents find comfort in rustic environments. Modern classics energize a traditional European setting while unexpected Asian accents find a home in a Rocky Mountain lodge. “We find balance; combining dramatic elements with subtle detailing, and vice-versa, creates a visual tension that inspires and excites.”
